Sukiran Elementary School is the oldest school purpose built permanent structure on the Island of Okinawa. Sukiran Elementary Opened its doors to students in 1954. The school is still open and in use, today. It's name was changed, post reversion, to Zukeran Elementary school and that name is still in use, today.
